I saw that google has opened their google transit service by publishing an API. I think this is a fantastic idea so I wrote UTA the following letter. Hopefully they will soon be using this service.

I would like to suggest that UTA will be able to improve service and cut some costs by signing up for google transit. This fine service is made available by google, and they have recently published an API allowing UTA and its riders to start taking advantage of this service. This will allow your riders including myself to be able to use the great tools put out by google to schedule bus and trax trips.
The api info is at: http://code.google.com/transit/spec/transit_feed_specification.htm

Here is the reply I received from UTA so far:
Thank you for your suggestion regarding Google Transit. We are currently exploring opportunities to make UTA’s trip planner easier to use and more widely available. Your feedback is very helpful.
